Though it was primarily all about the green for Porsche at the Paris Motor Show (the company was busy unveiling its new Panamera 4 E-Hybrid), few could ignore the new racing 911 GT3 on-stage, which is set to make its competitive debut in 2017.

With that comes power. Sizable git-loads of it as well, the previous 460bhp flat-six now updated to a 485bhp 4-litre unit. Plus, weighing just 1200kg means the new GT3 boasts a 404bhp/ton power-to-weight ratio. Said boosted performance is partnered with revised front and rear aprons for improved downforce and traction, though 184cm fixed rear wing and centre locking 18in, Michelin-shod racing rims remain intact.

Any customer racing outfits reading this might be interested to know that prices for the new 2017 GT3 start from around $213,000. Of further note, 3031 sales across the 996, 997 and 991 since 1998 make the GT3 Cup most-sold GT racing car in the world.
