8 AWESOME Formula 1 concept designs

  1. Fioravanti LF1

Bizarre concepts are hardly a rarity at the Geneva Motor Show, and Italian design studio Fioravanti were not about to buck the trend in 2009 when they unveiled the LF1. That year eponymous company designer Leonardo, after years designing Ferrari road cars with Pininfarina, took a stab at designing a racer, taking streamlining to a whole new level as he did so. On the LF1 concept, there is no rear wing at all and the design blends the sidepods with partial wheel housings. Strange to think that fellow Italian manufacturer Dallara would implement a similar design – with rear wing – for the IndyCar series just a few years later.
