V8 Supercars. Look back at the Desert 400 Bahrain

It seems like an absolute age away that I made the trip to the Kingdom of Bahrain to race a Radical in the support race for the Desert 400. At the time I had never had the experience of V8 Supercars even though they rate very near the top of my perceived perfect racing formula… being a huge Brock fan would always lead me to that though.

There was a lot of down time during the weekend meaning I could steel the Gulf-Sport mountain bike and head out with my camera.

I grabbed this shot of an empty pit garage with a teams tyres stacked up against the wall. I thought the picture was an epic fail, but looking back its quite cool!

I noticed these brake pads and discs left outside one of the pit garages cooling down after a morning practice session. Judging by braking points and the high ambient temps I would suggest that hot may have been an understatement.

These guys run monster amounts of camber up front just to get the cars to turn in – the gauges used to set the cars up are awesome!
