About time Volvo gave its headline hatchback a fresh look. Featuring a slightly revised exterior and a few interior updates, the new V40 will make its first public appearance at next week’s Geneva Motor Show.

The most prominent part of the V40’s new exterior look is the ‘Thor Hammer’ design across the emblem and front grille, the latter of which receives subtly revised mesh. The new design DNA made its debut on the XC90 late last year and has since been used on both the S90 saloon and the V90 estate. The V40 also gets new LED headlights five new exterior colours, and a choice of eight different alloy wheels. The cabin meanwhile now includes new City Weave upholstery as well as new interior aluminium panel trims in Milled, Blak Grid and Stealth, a nod towards which was first seen on Concept 26.

Volvo has also updated its On Call technology, which now features Microsoft Band 2 connectivity for smartphones using Windows 10. There is also a function, which allows you to sync your calendar with the system, sending appointment destinations to your sat-nav. Prices have yet to be revealed.
