The launch of the new S90 forms the second chapter in the complete renewal of Volvo’s product range, which began in 2015 with the XC90 SUV.

The S90 saloon comes powered by a T8 Twin Engine plug-in hybrid unit, delivering up to 410bhp.

IntelliSafe Assist will feature as standard, which includes adaptive cruise control and distance alert, and the advanced semi-autonomous drive feature; pilot assist.

The four-door coupe highlights the future ambitions of the Swedish carmaker. It has already invested $11bn in a new site in Charleston, South Carolina, where Volvo Cars is set to build its first North American production facility, employing around 2,000 workers.
