Is there a more modified car in the world than the Volkwagen Beetle? The humble, original people’s car has been tweaked and fiddled with for decades, and there are few more enthusiastic fans. Some of the most die-hard go for the California Look, brought to prominence in the late 1960s.

Unsurprisingly, California USA is the central base for modern-day Cal-Look Beetles, and British filmmaker Stephen Brooks has travelled to the States to meet and shoot some of the best-looking Beetles you’ll see. Here’s a hint of what he’s put together.
