MDStudio presents its rendered vision of the brand new Ferrari 488 GT3. But when will Maranello build theirs?

Could this be the new Ferrari 488 GT3?

In short, no. Or it seems unlikely at least. That Maranello will soon unveil a brand new GT racing equivalent of its 458 replacement is simply a matter of time (Ferrari does enjoy its category wins at Le Mans, after all), but the guys at MDstudio were feeling a little impatient, and have come up with the below renders.

The ball is in your court now Ferrari

With a render, speculation is usually pretty high. We can assume that under that meticulously moulded bodywork lies the same 660bhp 3.9-litre, turbocharged V8, albeit with reduced power and now mated to a six-speed sequential gearbox for endurance racing purposes. Based on technical regulations for the European Le Mans Series and Blancpain GT Series, the most significant elements of the bodywork include a new front splitter, fixed rear wing, racing slicks, as well as a demonic livery catch the eye and new air intakes for engine bay and brake cooling. Whether becomes the team’s primary sponsor remains to be seen…
