Dave Scholz is the proud owner of a highly collectable Series 1, 1970 Datsun 240Z, however, Dave’s Fairlady philosophy was not to create a concours classic that lived in a bubble for most of its days. Although tastefully upgraded with RS Watanabes and a Nardi Classic steering wheel, the real soul of this Z lies under the bonnet.
Running a Rebello three-litre stroker, this L-Series is pumping out 300hp which fits nicely in to Dave’s vision of creating a car that “the guy would have driven to Fuji Speedway from Yokohama” and the “one built in the garage not the one built by the company”. We think he has succeeded in capturing that nostalgia.
