Porsche B59. Legendary Lineage Meets Legendary Driver

The limited edition Porsche 911 Carrera GTS B59, Brumos Racing and Hurley Haywood.

Porsche 911 B59

I must confess that I had never heard of the Porsche 911 Carrera GTS B59 Edition until watching this film. Only five examples were made and they included extras such as a red/blue stripe, 19″ Fuchs-style Sport Classic wheels, fancy badges and LSD with sports suspension. The real kudos in owning one of these factory-authorised limited editions is that they were only available through one dealership, Brumos Porsche of Jacksonsville Florida, and they were built to honour Hurley Haywood.

Hurley Haywood is probably America’s most decorated endurance racer with three victories at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, two at the 12 Hours of Sebring and quite a few other titles under his belt. It is his record five overall wins in Porsches at Daytona in 1973, ’75, ’77, ’79 and 1991 that the B59 celebrates and is modelled on Brumos Racing’s famous Number 59.

For the privilege of buying a B59 back in 2012, you would have needed to lay down $133,540. These owners seem quite chuffed with their purchase.
