McLaren Mp4-12C. Le Mans. Opening The Floodgates

This McLaren MP4-12C was just one of the choice examples on track day duty during the first Tinseay Test Day at Le Mans.

Solid offerings at track days now seem to be coming out the woodwork. Fresh from the collection of automotive hum-dingery that made its way around the Bahrain international Circuit recently – including, among others, this Mercedes-Benz CLK GTR and 1973 Porsche 911 Carrera RS – we now travel to the Bugatti Circuit configuration at Le Mans for the first Tinseau Test Day of the year.

Porsche 959s and Ferrari 250 GTOs were nary to be seen at La Sarthe, though a host of Carrera GTs, GT2 RSs, Ferrari 430s and the occasional Lotus Exige meant participants weren’t wallowing in sorrow for too long, despite dense fog stopping play for an hour or two. Quite a selection indeed, but given our time recently with the McLaren 12C Spider, our epic drive with the MP4-12C last year, and the tantalisingly close debut for the all-new P1, our Shot of the Day couldn’t really have been anything else.
