Lamborghini confirms convertible Superveloce

Convertible version of Lamborghini’s hardcore Superveloce is on the way…

Lamborghini has confirmed that a roadster version of its hardcore Aventador LP 750-4 SV will be built. Just 500 examples will be built, CEO Stephan Winkelmann confirmed during the course of the Goodwood Festival of Speed.

Though few details have been announced, the new Aventador LP 750-4 SV Roadster will feature the same 6.5-litre V12 as found in the coupe version and boast the same 740bhp output, 50bhp more than the 50kg heavier ‘standard’ Aventador. This, in theory, will equate to a 0-100kph time very close to the coupe’s 2.8 second time, plus a top speed ‘over 350kph’. Imagine that. With a V12 soundtrack. Without a roof.

Oh by the way, if you’re hoping to get yourself up to speed with an LP 750-4 SV ahead of the convertible’s debut, you’re out of luck since all 600 models have now been sold. Fear not though, there’s a Nürburgring lap below to enjoy…
