Dubai’s UAE GT Champion Karim Al Azhari and Cabell Fisher have taken a winter jaunt over to the US and between them they are kicking ass. They have just picked up a win against a massive field at the 48 Hours at Sebring meeting in Florida.

Karim was driving the crankandpiston stickered Khaleji Motorsport Porsche 911, based on a 997 Cup S, and led from start to finish at the Porsche Club of America-organised event. The meeting sees hundreds of cars gathered from across the States for two sprint races and an enduro. Karim won the first sprint race and today (Sunday) will take part in the endurance event alongside his UAE GT colleague Cabell Fisher. Here’s hoping for more success.

  1. I agree with Paul. Today is the main event which we really came for. The 1.5 hour race enduro against 60 cars that include 2011 Cup Crand Am Spec cars even newer and more powerful than hours. We will do our best. It did feel good however to win the first race at Sebring International Circuit. Thank you all for your support!

  2. Great to see UAE drivers doing well overseas, but looking at the pictures, there doesn’t seem to be much in the way of competition, only one other 997 cup car that i can see and some modified toys from a decade or more ago. The 500 odd Bhp Khaleji Grand Am car against that lot is like putting Karim in his Corvette against the UAE Touring Cars, you would really expect a win.

Anyway good luck to both for today’s race.
