That’s not to say though that the Wrangler isn’t giving as good as it’s getting. I’m being jostled around pretty enthusiastically in the cabin as we bounce from dune to dune, and I’m a little worried – given the dust cloud still blocking my path – that I could end up slamming into an unsighted dip: while extolling the virtues of the Wrangler to Trading Enterprises, I’d really rather not explain that I’ve left half of it just outside Melieha and that the rest of the damage will probably buff out.

When I finally reach the end of the pass, I’m caked in sand, dust and – thanks to time under the 30-degree sun without a hat or suntan lotion – have also managed to burn my forearms and scalp. The Jeep Wrangler Sport Auto, standing nearby and caked in equally as much crap, looks ready to go again.
