Japanese Classic Car Show. ‘Movie Stars’

Another ‘movie star’ Hakosuka that we featured in the three course meal post was Mikey Castillo´s GC10. Prior to participation in the Targa Trophy early this year, it received its new livery, which certainly made it stand out from the crowd.

The look may be drawing on the nostalgia of period Hakosuka race cars but underneath is a modern era turbocharged RB engine. I am not sure if I should respect Mikey or just think he is a little mad for running such a lowered car on the ‘interesting’ road network of California. There is no denying though that a four-door Hako on bronze Watanabe’s looks awesome.

This year marks the 40th anniversary of the Kenmeri Skyline, and Ivan Jarmillo was there in his beautiful silver KGC110. JCCS had an amazing turn out of classic Skylines, but I believe the recent Bayline gathering in Northern California holds the record for the largest number gathered on American soil.

More to come in our coverage from this year´s JCCS in the third and final part. And yes, we will have something to please the Mazdafarians, Hondaholics and Mitsubishites amongst you.

– Many thanks to Japanese Nostalgic Car. Be sure to CHECK OUT OUR FULL JCCS GALLERY HERE
