Japanese Classic Car Show. ‘Movie Stars’

If the 2000GT is the super model within the Japanese classic car scene then the C10 Nissan Skyline could be described as the movie star. Several of the Hakosuka‘s present will be familiar to the crankandpiston massive as they have been the subject of many video posts, including this GC10 which featured in the first collaboration between Josh Clason and JDM Legends.

Owner Ryan Rudd purchased the car from JDM Legends, and I believe it was one of the first customer cars the company sold. It must have been the ‘start of a beautiful friendship’ as Ryan now works at the company.

Speaking of JDM Legends, this is the latest import from the Utah-based firm, and for me at least, approaches Hakosuka perfection. White KGC10 with a highly tuned L28 rolling on black Watanabe alloys. I am unsure if a customer is already lined up for this one but it is unlikely to hang around too long: it is probably the only one for sale in the US at the moment.

I did’t get to speak to the owner of this beautifully restored silver KGC10 but apparently it had been rescued from a Japanese junk yard about a week before it was due to be crushed. An extensive, time consuming and no doubt expensive restoration followed and the finished product looked stunning. Well saved that man!
