There’s more to DeLorean than Back to the Future says XCAR

DeLorean DMC-12 XCAR-2

When the troubled DeLorean Motor Company of Belfast, Northern Ireland, closed down in 1983, it left a lot of DMC-12 owners with no aftermarket service. So in 1995 a company in the US swiped up all the old stock and ran a maintenance firm for DeLoreans in Houston, Texas.

After a while, it dawned on the owners that they had enough stock, and the capability to make new parts, to produce all-new DeLoreans. And so that’s what they’re doing.

XCAR visited the facility to meet the team, hear the story, and film the dozens of DMC-12s that continue to pass through the doors of the revamped DeLorean Motor Company.
