Around the World. 50 Years of the Porsche 911. Vic Elford

Vic Elford talks about balance while driving the “Around the World Porsche 911”. And we listen.

Porsche 911

Vic Elford knows what he is talking about. In 1968 he won the Monte Carlo Rally then a week later he won the Daytona 24 Hours. Only managed second place at Sebring a few weeks after that but saved face by winning the Targa Florio in what is widely considered the greatest race in Targa history. And then winning the Nürburgring 1000 kilometres a fortnight after that. Oh, and also finishing fourth that year in his first ever F1 race in a rain drenched French Grand Prix. And that was just 1968.

Vic also knows a bit about Porsche and was the only driver to ever race every version of the Porsche 917. And did the high speed close-up action driving in the 917 for the Steve McQueen film “Le Mans“. And also managed the Porsche Owners Driving School and the Porsche Driving Experience.

So, when Vic Elford is talking about the balance of the 911, you best listen.
