A devastating 0-100 time is the Holy Grail for petrol heads. The Nissan GT-R – which crankandpiston.com spent some time with recently – goes from stationary to “what the hell…?!” in just 8.5s, while the Bugatti Veyron has it licked in just 5.8s.  However, idle curiosity, a lunch break and the Google playground unearthed the Traxxas X0-1, which goes from 0-100mph in – wait for it – 4.9s. Oh, did we mention that it’s radio-controlled?

Its sleek body kit, along with big volt power delivery, mean this ‘supercar’ will hit 0-60 in just a squeak over 2s. Interestingly, as well as the control itself, Traxxas have developed an iphone app (nee dashboard) that allows the driver to adjust steering, brake and throttle responsiveness of their particular model.
