We introduced you to the crazy world of Rich Olafsson not so long ago, when we featured a cheeky picture of his mildly mental Porsche 356 Rep with Subaru power as it blasted along a motorway in the UK. Now if you remember, I also made reference to the new project that has been festering in his Garage for the last 3 “ish” years. The project started out as a quick build, mild re-fresh and some choice wheels to get the Cab out on the road to enjoy the English summers. However as always with Rich, something was bound to happen to change that plan.

I’ve know Rich for a long time now and could see what was about to go down…As predicted things started to get out of control when one cold winters evening he found a WRX RA engine on Ebay, that pumps out a more than respectable 300hp. Then things really did start to get out of control as a Porsche G50 gearbox popped up, followed by some Porsche 996 Brakes and 19” Carrera Sport wheels. You get where we are going with this…

The work and the fabrication that has gone on with this 1303 VW Beetle is more than a little bit insane. We will be bring you a full collection of pics soon, however in the mean time I think this one gives you a good impression as to just how cool the project is.
