In a close fought encounter in the Red Bull Car Park Drift UAE final, Jad Himo pipped nearest rival Othman Al Takriti from Jordan by just one point, 253 to his rival’s 252. The final spot on the podium went to Omani Ali Al Bloushi, a little further back with 236 points.

Red Bull Car Park Drift proved a fitting finale to a comprehensive motoring program in the UAE, with both the 2013 Dubai International Motor Show and the Formula 1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix both taking place during the past two weeks. On the night, the drift limelight was temporarily stolen by a demonstrating Infiniti Red Bull F1 car, former Guinness World Record holder Abdo Feghali, and two-wheeled specialist Shadi Al Dhaheri.

This year’s competition has taken in arenas in Bahrain, Bulgaria, Egypt, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, and Saudi Arabia as well as the United Arab Emirates. Judging the action in Dubai was Meang-Keun Lee from Korea, Alexandr Grinchuk from the Ukraine, and former Porsche GT3 Challenge Cup Middle East title holder Abdulaziz Turki AlFaisal. Points were awarded based on Drifting Skills (40%), Clipping Point (20%), Speed Trap (10%), Car Appearance (10%), Crowd Reaction (10%), and Smoke/Engine (10%).

If you don’t fancy taking the judge’s word for it though, why not check out highlights from the Dubai finale in the video below.
