We’ll start with some sad news, in that the death metal black is long gone, replaced by full grey-matt metallic wrap and just enough Manhart sponsor stickers to get the point across. Still, this does apparently give the MH5 a ‘stealth fighter’ look, which should appeal to the eight-year-olds among you.

No pulsating bundle of horsepower though is complete without a rear wing, front splitter and a rear diffuser. Check, check and check. There’s also been some cheeky carbon botox about the air intakes and the bonnet.

But you’ve not come here for cosmetics. The real show is under the bonnet, where the 4.4-litre Biturbo has been given a healthy dose of steroids and now spits out 646hp. Read that again: 646hp. This BMW M5 (though you’ll find no reference whatsoever to it on any of the panels) can now hit 316kph.
