Having made a surprise guest appearance at the Los Angeles Auto Show this past week, the Lamborghini Veneno Roadster is set to make its Middle Eastern debut on 1 December in Abu Dhabi.

As if the prospect of a 355kph hypercar isn’t enough to get emirati petrolheads salivating, the Veneno Roadster will make its regional debut aboard the Italian Navy aircraft carrier Cavour as part of the 240-metre warship’s five month Made in Italy tour. Whether this means we’ll see donuts on the flush deck we’ll have to wait and see, though Lamborghini may err on the side of caution when toying around with its € 3.3 million ($4.5 million) convertible.

Belting out 750hp from its 6.5-litre V12, the Lamborghini Veneno Roadster – only nine of which will be built – takes just 2.9 seconds to hit 100kph off the line. Put differently, the Veneno Roadster is just 0.1s slower to 100kph than the new McLaren P1. Now there’s a drag race we’d like to see on-board ship…
