This may well have been the Artemis’ grand unveiling, but it’s not the first time the SUV has dipped its Pirellis into the public limelight. Indeed, when the model first made its debut at the Beijing Motor Show earlier this year, petrolheads didn’t really get it: “wait, so it’s a luxury limousine AND an SUV?”
Yep. Amongst the items of note in the cabin were lambskin rugs, carbon fibre trim, and a refrigerator, complete with crystal goblets naturally. All of which should fit in nicely with London’s other Chelsea tractors on the school run.
But wait, there’s also the ‘ruggedness’ of the exterior too. We’re not going to lie, the Artemis is not the prettiest beast to roll off the production line, and we’d like to think that somewhere, the designer of the Porsche Cayenne is having a chuckle.
If ‘luxury’ and ‘ruggedness’ weren’t enough to focus on, then a 4.8-litre twin-turbo V8 and development work by former-Grand Prix winner Johnny Herbert means ‘performance’ is on the checklist too. Have you ever tried drinking a glass of white at 290kph?
Fortunately, a young lady in a leotard hanging from the ceiling meant there wasn’t time to delve any deeper. Pass the canapés, there’s a lot to mull over.
