Chris Harris cancels his child’s birthday for a spin in the McLaren 12C GT3 Race Car.
The McLaren 12C GT3 race car differs from its rivals. It retains the carbon tub, however, the clever technologies of the road car – the hydraulic cross-link suspension, the dual-clutch transmission and open differential – have been shifted back to ‘normal spec’ for racing purposes. It also loses about 20-percent of the road going 12C’s power output. So, is it any good on track?
