When it first broke cover, the Porsche Panamera polarized opinion quite unlike any  model to have rolled out the Stuttgart gates. And, let’s be honest, it wasn’t exactly a 50:50 split.

All that might be about to change though with the launch of the Panamera Sport Turismo at the Paris Motor Show. Now true, at the moment it is only a concept car, but it seems Porsche is looking pretty closely at the bodystyle being incorporated into the company’s ‘design language’.

One of the main features of the exterior is its smooth and taut bodylines, completely devoid of bolt on extras. You’ll notice, for example, that the wing mirrors have been replaced with two cameras mounted in the side air outlets. We wouldn’t put money on these making it to production, but the low sloping roof definitely gets a tick in our box.

Power comes from a 333hp 3.0-litre supercharged V6, which works alongside a 95hp electric motor and lithium-ion battery packs (did we mention that this model is also a hybrid?) to theoretically rip the concept model from standstill to 100kph in less than six seconds. This combined 416hp system is a development of the hybrid configuration already used in the company’s Panamaera S Hybrid and Cayenne S Hybrid, and can be driven on pure electricity alone at up to 130kph.

The eagle-eyed amongst you may also have noticed the Acid Green brake kit and the Liquid Metal Blue paint finish, which gives the Porsche Sport Turismo a surface that resembles liquid metal.

Remind me. What happens when electricity and liquid meet…?
