Why the Felino Cars CB7 is worth paying attention to

A few things you need to know about the new Felino Cars CB7 supercar, built in Quebec, Canada.

[Not a valid template]

Towards the end of last year, we spent some considerable time with the first ever Arabic supercar, the W Motors Lykan Hypersport. Turns out though that automotive patriotism is all the rage, since Canadian based car maker Felino Cars has spent four years developing a ‘Made in Quebec’ supercar, the CB7. Ironic then that (apparently) only a limited series will be available in Canada’, the rest being dispatched internationally.

Marketed with the usual promises of ‘unforgettable driving experiences’, there are several points of note that make the CB7 worth paying attention to. Looks, yes, but also a 525hp 6.2-litre V8, six-speed manual gearbox, rear-wheel drive, and a butt-load of carbon fibre. Take a quick peak at the release video below, and you’ll also notice that the new supercar can pummel the apexes cones at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve without mercy, and that this ‘potentially street legal’ high-performance two-seater sports car ‘with on-track capacity’ could actually be something of a weapon.

Will we find out soon? Probably not, but if a near $100k asking price doesn’t put potential buyers off (and it usually doesn’t), then this could prove to be something special.

But there are a couple of other points that the official release images have subtly shown. The CB7 already has the green vote, cyclists apparently going out of their way to talk to its driver…

…the futuristic styling of the model will cause Olympic rowers to look wistfully into the distance…

…and, if you happen to dress like David Hasselhoff in Knight Rider, atttractive women will be unable to walk down a bizarrely quiet street without gravitating in your direction…

…you might have to let her sit on the bonnet though, so keep your scanners peeled KITT.
