TOP 10 motorsport backflips

9. Mark Webber (again) – Le Mans, 1999

His Valencia trip to the sky wasn’t Webber’s first argument with physics. Back in 1999 the Australian was racing for Mercedes at the Le Mans 24 Hours. Earlier in the meeting, his teammate Peter Dumbreck had, out of sight of TV cameras, backflipped his car on the Mulsanne straight, but the team thought he was exaggerating. But then Webber did exactly the same thing. The crash consisted of two full backflips and nearly a third, before a combination of trees and ground stopped the acrobatics. Remarkably, Webber wasn’t hurt.
