4. Argentina 1977 – Wolf in sheep’s clothing?

The first race of 1977 saw a brand new team on the grid. Wolf was launched by Canadian businessman Walter Wolf, and the team arrived at the Buenos Aires circuit with a single car, a Ford engine and a South African driver – Jody Scheckter. The car qualified a respectable tenth, but in the race six cars ahead of the Wolf retired and Scheckter scored an incredible debut Formula 1 win for his new team. Scheckter would finish second in the 1977 title race to Niki Lauda.
