Skoda adds VRS 4×4 to Octavia range

Skoda has added a new VRS 4×4 version of its Octavia model.

Skoda Octavia VRS

An all-new four-wheel drive version of the VRS has been added to the Skoda range.

The release of this new all-wheel drive model brings all-wheel-drive capability to the VRS range for the first time.

Powered by a 2.0-litre TDI 184bhp diesel engine and equipped with a six-speed DSG gearbox as standard, the vRS 4×4 combines a high torque output of 280lb ft. Designed to maximise grip in all conditions, the four-wheel-drive system constantly monitors traction at each wheel and directs power to whichever axle requires it.

In terms of performance, Octavia vRS 4×4 hatch models can sprint from 0-100kph in just 7.6seconds (Estate 7.7 seconds) –0.3 seconds quicker than the two-wheel-drive model), while returning 57.7mpg on the combined cycle (56.5mpg Estate). CO2 output figures are 129g/km for the hatch and 131g/km for the estate.

Standard equipment includes multi-link sports suspension and electronic differential lock XDS+ for dynamic cornering, progressive steering and assistance systems. Amundsen touchscreen satellite navigation system, 18-inch Gemini anthracite alloy wheels, bi-xenon headlights and dual-zone climate control with humidity sensor are also included, at no extra cost.

Prices start from $39,300.
