You may or may not recognise this car. The Singer 911 created by Singer Vehicle Design popped up about a year ago as a study into creating the most special of 911s. It harks back back to the days of the small, lightweight, nimble 911, with the simple yet beautiful classic lines of the original 901 concept that Porsche revealed in 1963 at the Frankfurt Motorshow.

Now you might wonder why we are going to effort of posting this piece considering the news has passed and people already know about Singer and their 911! Well, the reason is that they have actually produced a car… so it’s not just smoke and mirrors like a lot of projects of this ilk.

The ?newly ?born ?Singer ?911 retains ?the ?Vehicle ?Identification ?Number? (VIN) ?of ?the ?donating ?’parent’ ?911? and ?is then? legally ?registered, ?operated ?and? licensed? in ?the ?same ?manner as per normal. So no worries there.

The cheeky looking Stainless exhaust system is very late generation GT3…Quite fitting to the older shape and designed with performance in mind.

As the car is inherently unstable, Singer have been meticulous with ensuring that the car, the chassis and the aero is up to the task. So up front there ?is ?a ?fixed ?carbon ?fiber spoiler, ?while ?the ?rear ?spoiler ?is ?an ?active,? speed? sensitive ?unit ?that? rises ?into ?position? at ?100kph. Would you believe there is a bucket load of carbon fibre in here? Front and rear wings, ?bumpers, bonnet?, lower ?side ?and? rear ?rocker? panels and even the ?roof – when you don’t specify the sunroof.

So there you have it – old school cool, mixed with new cool tech. All wrapped up in the shape of the most iconic sports car there is. And thankfully, they have actually started making them as oppposed to it falling by the wayside.
