crankandpiston grabs a shot of British and UAE GT Championship race winner Rob Barff before he takes to the track at the Dubai Autodrome for the inaugural NGK 300 in the Dragon Racing Ferrari 458 GT3.
Those of you who regularly follow the Blancpain Endurance Series, the Dubai 24hrs, the UAE GT Championship and the NGK Racing Series – or who simply have a hankering for a GT3 version of the Ferrari 458 Italia – will probably be familiar with the name Rob Barff. If you’re a fan of the Nissan GT Academy, you may also recognise Rob as one of the tutors.
Currently competing with teammate Leon Price on the UAE scene with Dragon Racing, the pair took on the Blancpain circuit last year with Jordon Grogor and have already signed up for 2013 with Von Ryan Racing and the McLaren MP4-12C GT3. We can also real off podium finishes at the Daytona 24hrs at the FIA GT Championship, and race victories in the British GT Championship. Word is he’s also pretty handy on-track with a Radical SR9 and a classic 1957 Porsche 550A Spyder.
This past weekend he was back behind the scarlet wheel taking on the inaugural NGK 300. crankandpiston photographer David Benson saw an opportunity and couldn’t resist this cheeky shot.
