Anybody remember Ferrari Racing Days at Yas Marina when crankandpiston.com spent three days exploring the glitz, the glamour, the speed and the ferociously expensive of the Scuderia? Well this week we’re doing it again at this year’s Modena Trackday at Spa-Francorchamps courtesy of Jonathan Szczupak, whom you may remember doesn’t need much incentive to the historic circuit.

Since 1993 – the inaugural year of Ferrari Challenge, just FYI – Ferrari has been hosting track days at both Spa-Francorchamps and the Nurburgring. Fundamental to the process, as well as the legendary circuits, are the collection of current Ferrari single seaters and historic GT racers. Throw in guest appearances at past events by endurance legend Jacky Ickx and three-time Formula 1 World Champion Niki Lauda, and fans of the prancing horse could do worse than fork out for a Belgian airline ticket this week.

And should you grow weary of the scarlet paintwork, then a collection of classic sportscars – which includes the Ford GT40, Alfa T 33 Daytona, McLaren F1 GTR, and the Porsche 906, 908, 910 and /or 917 – will also be hitting the circuit. A sight to behold heading through Eau Rouge, we’re sure you’ll agree.

But we’ll let Jonathan cover that.
