IndyCar visor cam. Awesome and terrifying

Get on board with Simon Pagenaud as he dodges concrete walls in his IndyCar on the streets of Florida.

Simon Pagenaud IndyCar St Petersburg 01

Ever driven fast through the city streets? Wrong. No you haven’t. One man who has though is IndyCar racer Simon Pagenaud. During the practice session for last weekend’s event at St Petersburg, Florida, he wore a helmet cam to give us a driver’s eye view of what it’s like to drive a single seater race car extremely fast around a street circuit.

It’s amazing, but a little unnerving – watch as he catches drifts just inches away from rather solid-looking concrete walls. It’s not quite the same as razzing around a roundabout in your hot hatch.
