Random blog post this one – Myself, Buzz, Christophe, Jean Luis, Jordan and Klaus (the AUH Gang) all decided that a drive around the Nordschleife was a necessity while the guys where racing at the Nurburgring!
So on the Saturday afternoon after Race one of the Radical European Masters, the leaders of the Championship from Team AUH Motorsport hit the hallowed tarmac…..in a Volvo, Passat CC and Golf respectively!
I jumped in with Bassam and we proceeded to have the most awesome time of the weekend..
Flat!!!!! are you sure??? was the repetitive conversation for about 12 minutes that afternoon…Having driven it a 1000+ times on the Playstation and more that a few in real life, I knew what was coming so played co-pilot for the lap much to Buzz’s amusement as he kept the Volvo pinned as much as he dared!
As you can see from the pic Buzz’s first experience of the “green hell” was an awesome one! Getting a 2.0 petrol Volvo sideways will be a memory that will hang around for a long time.
