Jaguar is set to release a film on its new F-Type roadster starring Damian Lewis, a teaser trailer for which has already been unveiled.
Official launch videos for brand new cars are nothing new: Ferrari’s sextet of the new Enzo successor temporarily broke the internet yesterday in the crankandpiston office. Car chases scenes are nothing new either: where for example would Bullitt, Ronin, and (forgive me) The Fast and The Furious be without burning rubber and drifting police cars?
Jaguar has now taken this concept to a whole new level, releasing a trailer for a short film based on the new F-Type. The film, a Ridley Scott Associates production (we’ve checked, Aliens and Sigourney Weaver probably won’t be making an appearance), is certainly the most ambitious in a line of videos produced to celebrate the F-Type’s release.
The new film – Desire – stars Damian Lewis, Jordi Molla and Shannyn Sossamon and follows the trio as an attempt to deliver a new car to a customer leads to more than just a signature on the dotted line. Desire also features the soundtrack ‘Burning Desire’ by Lana del Ray, and is directed by Adam Smith.
Expect this ‘story of betrayal, retribution, passion and greed’ to hit the semi-big screen in Spring.
