Mercedes AMG GT. The final tease

Mercedes AMG GT set to make its debut on September 9

If speculation – and a YouTube clip now doing the rounds – are to be believed, Mercedes is already working on a Black Series addition of its SLS replacement, the AMG GT. Spotted caning around the Nürburgring, with what appears to be lowered suspension, a new wing, and a revised front bumper, we can only imagine what brutal power the Black will boast. In the meantime, there’s September 9. This is the day Mercedes will finally unveil the brand new AMG GT to the world.

In an effort to elevate heart rates yet more, the company has now released a new clip showing snippets of the GT’s 32-month development program. Key areas of interest include its run on the Bonneville Salt Flats (we wonder what Andy Green would have to say about that) and in the heart of the Arctic Circle, up to 50 test drivers putting the newboy through its gruelling extreme weather paces: everything from -30 to 50 degrees undertaken across 15 countries, plus the occasional drag race.

Time to hear 462-510bhp of furious V8 soundtrack. Plus the traditional rousing background music.
