‘Compelling.’ ‘Exciting’. ‘Utterly exciting’. ‘One of the best films this year’.

The platitudes go on and on, and Ron Howard’s Rush – a cinematic retelling of the 1976 Formula 1 season – is already being hailed by some as the best Grand Prix film ever made, and amongst the best motorsport films ever made too. Considering this illustrious crowd includes Senna, Le Mans and Grand Prix, that gives you some idea just how impressive Chris Hemsworth’s James Hunt and Daniel Brühl’s Niki Lauda truly are.

Keen not to miss this cinematic epic of one of the most famous F1 seasons to date, the crankandpiston.com team even hired a cinema at the Ibn Battuta Mall in Dubai for a private screening for some of its closest fans. Huge congrats to everyone who won a pair of tickets through our on-site competition.

Since we’re unable to show you the film itself (the Motion Picture Licencing Corporation can be sticklers for movie piracy, so we’ve heard) we thought you might enjoy some of our behind the scenes images from the crankandpiston private screening, especially if you haven’t had a chance to see Rush yet. And you should hurry. It really is quite good.
