Race and Win Watches. Special Gulf Racing ES1

Race and Win Watches presents the latest limited edition model in its collection, the Special Gulf Racing ES1.

Race And Win

Anybody who has even a passing interest in motorsport will recognise the iconography of the Gulf Racing colours. And even those of you who haven’t will have seen this blue and this orange on one Ford GT40 or another at some point. Suffice to say that watches, t-shirts, jeans, belts, formal eveningwear, spats and handkerchiefs (we assume) can be found in abundance.

We thought it worth bringing this particular item to your attention though: the Race and Win Special Gulf Racing ES1 watch. You may perhaps recognise the company name – RAW watches made their crankandpiston bow a little over 12 months ago – and the man behind them, Eric Fabre. Monsieur Fabre is a keen motorsport photography, his portfolio boasting trips to the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the Six Hours of Spa-Franchorchamps, various legs of the Blancpain Endurance Series and FIA GT scene, and the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb.

Clearly the garcon knows his motor racing then, as this new collection showcases. The moniker ES1 is a direct reference to timed rally stages, you’ll find a chequered flag surrounding the date, and the use of lightweight carbon and blue and orange colours speak for themselves.

Race And Win

Each RAW Gulf Racing ES1 comes with its own bespoke case and commemorative plaque, neither of which could obviously be shot without a scale replica of a Gulf Racing McLaren 12C GT3 alongside it. Or an Aston Martin Vantage GT4 for the patriotic Brits amongst us.

You’ll hardly be surprised to learn that these examples are limited editions – this is a crankandpiston lifestyle piece, after all – which means you’ll be lucky if you see more than 50. Our recommendation? Ajouter au panier…
