Race winner Natasha Seatter returns to the #3 berth she occupied last year, in which she took two victories in 2011/2012. The only female competitor in this year’s competition lost a potential third victory at last year’s finale when she was pipped at the chequered flag by just 0.070s, but remains a favourite for overall victory.

Malaysian Seatter will be joined by compatriots Rahul Raj Mayer and Daniel Woodroof on the grid this season, both of whom make their single-seater debuts. Woodroof will miss the opening test session this weekend, but two days of testing in the #16 car at the Sepang International Circuit certainly demonstrated the newboy’s speed. Fellow kart racer Mayer, who completed three days-worth of testing in Malaysia in the #72 F1000 single-seater, will continue his pre-season preparation at Yas Marina this weekend.

The newly announced driver line-up will compete across 14 rounds during the 2012/2013 season, with the first of which takes place 9 November at the Dubai Autodrome. With Ghanem not returning to defend his title, a new Champion will be crowned at the final race of the season on 29 March.
