1993 Nissan Skyline GTR R32. Godzilla love

Mohammed Al-Yassi gets to shoot a personal favourite. A 1993 Nissan Skyline R32 GTR.

A couple of weeks ago I received an email from a young man asking me to shoot his brother’s GTR R32 in Ras Al Khaimah. I was happy to shoot this car because I love GTR! When we arrived I met Saeed Al-Mansoori, the brother of the owner, who took us to meet Godzilla in a car wash station. When I saw Godzilla I started smiling without reason and I tried to stop but I couldn’t. It’s that same feeling as a child who gets a video game console for the first time!

Saeed took us to a random location to shoot the car far away from public and he told me that RAK Police have strict rules about modified import-cars. After a while we met the owner, Khalfan Al-Mansoori, who told me that he brought this Godzilla in early 2005 (9 years of owning this car) and he is a serious fan of all Godzilla, Skylines and Zs. “The major point in this Godzilla is keeping it simple to last as long as possible” Khalfan said.

So it’s all about keeping it forever and Khalfan mentioned they converted the steering wheel from right to left hand drive after spending a lot of time trying to find a reliable place to do it in a perfect way back in 2005.

Most of the major work on this Godzilla was done by Extreme Motors Garage in Ras Al Khaimah and the other stuff done in Khalfan home garage. This is the first time I have met a person who cares about his car this much and wants to make it last forever.

It’s a pleasure to see a ’93 Godzilla around here in good shape and without 2JZ engine swap!
