Hard to believe the level that ME drag racing’s at these days…
Seems only about 5 years ago that it was all about clapped out Jap Skylines and Patrols and whatnot with massive turbos grafted on…
You’ll still see a few of those around the local UAQ circuit on raceday but the real story is the emergence of pro-built cars being brought in from the US as the Super Stock, Pro Stock and Funnycar levels. You’ll now see much more Yank machinery out there than anything, and they’re getting rather quick!
And of course there’s a whole battle between the funny car guys these days – for so long it was Khalid Al Balooshi’s purple monster dominating absolutely everything else out there and, although I think he’s still the quickest around, good to see plenty of challengers in similarly specced cars showing up in Bahrain, Qatar and Kuwait.
