Following on from the intro to Dean “Karnage” Kearney last week we thought it high time to throw a bit more info you way. Ever since I heard from Ian and Dean I have been thinking about drifting and what it means to the people in the Middle East. As a lot of the true geeks amongst know drifting in the widest sense of the word is quite popular over here – Maybe however Dean can bring the professional twist that the scene is itching to see – well I say professional but what I mean is the finesse!

So here we go – Introducing Killer Karnage, Dean Kearney!

Name: Dean Kearney
DOB: 12 September 1988
Location: Waterford, Ireland
Profession: Flooring Contractor
Interests: Motorsport, Drifting, Football

Having had a keen interest in cars from an early age, Dean Kearney was first introduced to the world of motor sport through his father who was part of the rally scene in his day.

This lead Dean to develop a love for cars and indeed, as the drift scene grew at home in Ireland, so too did Dean’s passion for the sport. So much in fact that he has been building and maintaining his own drift cars since the very beginning.

Of course as drifting thrived, standards grew; each year being more challenging than the last; but Dean continues to meet and exceed these demands as he becomes more determined to reach his goals. At 16 he catapulted straight to Pro class at his first ever qualifying session in a Nissan 200sx S14.

2007 brought a new car for Dean: A Nissan One-Via; which helped him to gain success as he finished 2nd in the D-rift Battle Championship and 6th in the Prodrift Championship.
2008 proved his dedication when we saw Dean become the only competitor in Ireland and indeed Europe to log two cars under his own name. These were his trusty Nissan

One-Via from 2007 and his 600bhp Nissan S13 ex Pro D1GP car. These two cars were great assets to Dean as he accomplished 2nd place in the 2008 Prodrift Irl Championship and he also finished up in a very respectable 4th place in the Prodrift Europe Championship.

There is more to come from Dean very soon with some gritty coverage of life behind the scenes and life for Dean in general.
