Citroen’s new World Touring Car in Abu Dhabi

Look! It’s Citroen’s new World Touring Car in action at Yas Marina in Abu Dhabi.

We were fortunate enough to have an invitation down to the Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi this week, where Citroen were undergoing testing of their brand new entry into the World Touring Car Championship.

Underneath the optical disguise is a race car based on the Citroen C-Elysee, and it’s the machine that will carry four-time WTCC champion Yvan Muller and rally legend Sebastien Loeb in this year’s championship. With pilots that experienced on board, there’s considerable pressure on the French team to provide a car worthy of their combined talents.

Unfortunately, due to the sensitive nature of the tests being conducted, we can’t tell you much else – no one would talk to us and we weren’t allowed to take pictures inside the garage. But we did at least manage to get some nice shots of the car out on the circuit. And who doesn’t love a wide-arched race car?
