VIDEO. Behind the scenes. Battledrift. Liberty Walk

You’ve seen Monster Energy’s BattleDrift and the team’s behind the scenes footage. Now you can check out Liberty Walk’s POV of the tandem drift in question between their own Lamborghini Murciélago and Vaughn Gittin Jr’s Ford Mustang.

We’ll be the first to admit we’ve been a bit slow on the uptake with this one. But having taken a quick – and slightly blurry – view of a Liberty Walk Dodge Challenger SRT from Saudi Arabia, our subsequent YouTube ‘LB’ searches unearthed this behind the scenes footage of Monster Energy’s BattleDrift. Colour us intrigued…

Chances are you’re familiar with it, but for those of you who’ve enjoyed the last eight months with your head buried beneath a pillow, BattleDrift (available HERE) brings together D1GP star Daigo Saito in a V12 Lamborghini Murciélago, and Formula Drift’s Vaughn Gittin Jr in a 2015 Ford Mustang RTR Spec 5 for a tandem drift on a touge mountain road in Japan. Tyre destroying feats of sideways madness should be incentive enough to give this a watch, but we’ll also mention that independent director – and renowned petrolhead – Luke Huxham was the brainchild for this instalment.

Liberty Walk’s behind the scenes video, understandably, focuses more on the Formula D-spec Lamborghini they helped build compared with the more in-depth volume posted by Monster Energy itself (you can find that HERE), but the array of talent Liberty Walk has lined up for its own BTS footage is impressive. Liberty Walk CEO himself Wataru Kato for instance takes us through the initial planning stages for the drift through Japan’s Russian Village, before explain the myriad, logistical ball aches that goes with filming two drift-spec weapons in tandem. Rather him than us…
